Friendship
A friend is someone who is on your side, who you trust, admire, and enjoy spending time with. Friendships can come in many forms: from campmates, schoolmates, and teammates, to those very old and very young. And they can be fostered over time to create a special bond.
Building Friendships
One of the best parts of camp is meeting new people who are just like you, and many who aren’t. As they say, variety is the spice of life, and this includes our friend groups, too! It seems like a daunting task to meet new people during normal times, and even more so during the time we currently face together. Thankfully there are some ways to reach out now to the people who need it most while safe at home!
With an adult’s permission and supervision, click the pictures below to pick a pen pal and then get writing!

Growing Friendships
There are so many ways to grow the bond between friends. You can learn about each other by asking questions, playing games, spending time together, and learning new things.
Find a friend or family member to play a game or two with you. Keep going through this module for game ideas.
Play a Friendship Building Game
Pick a game, and play it with a friend or family member to help get to know them better:
Two Truths and a Wish Game
Each person thinks about two crazy facts about themselves. They then think about one more crazy fact that is not true. Each girl then shares the (3) facts with the group. It is up to the group to guess which fact is untrue!
Froggie Detective
Everyone sits in a circle. One girl is assigned as the Detective and then leaves the room. Everyone closes their eyes and the leader chooses one frog. Everyone else is a fly. When the frog has been chosen, the group members can open their eyes. They then say “Oh Froggie Detective” and the Detective comes back in and stands inside of the circle. The frog must stick her tongue out at the flies, which signals the flies to dramatically fall backwards. The Detective has 3 chances to guess who the frog is. Then the frog and the Detective switch places.
